What Do You Get Bono For His Birthday – Well…

For the man who wants for nothing, this year marks the 12th annual “Build a Well For Bono’s Birthday” campaign. The campaign was started by a group of U2 fans who were inspired by Bono’s tireless work for Africa.

The 11 previous campaigns have raised over $225,000 in Bono’s honor to fund the construction of clean water and sanitation projects implemented by AWF partner Africare that are benefiting more than 60,000 people in Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mali, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

This year they are looking to try something a little different. The “Tweet a Well For Bono’s Birthday” campaign is “asking people to tweet, blog and post to encourage others to donate using the hashtag #Bonowell, from 3:00 p.m. EST Friday May 9th to 3:00 p.m. EST Sat. May 10th. (May 10 is Bono’s birthday)”.
