Gift Idea: 13 Disc Beatles Box Set

With the 50th anniversary of the Beatles first trip to America coming up early next year, expect plenty of special commemorative….somethings.  And some of them are rather important.

For example, I had no idea that five–FIVE–Beatles albums have never, ever been released on CD.  These aren’t the usual releases with which everyone is famiiar; they’re special records made up just for the American market. They are:

  • A Hard Day’s Night (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (1964),
  • The Beatles’ Story (1964)
  • Yesterday and Today (1966)
  • Revolver (the special U.S. edition from 1966)
  • Hey Jude (1970)

Also included in the package:  Meet the Beatles! (1964), The Beatles’ Second Album (1964), Something New (1964)Beatles ’65 (1965, duh), The Early Beatles (1965), Beatles VI (1965), Help! (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (1965) and Rubber Soul (1965).
