Going to the Hip Concert in Hamilton? Bring a White Hanky (UPDATE Included)
If you’re a fan of the Hip and have seen them live, you know that Gord Downie is known for his white hanky. And Gord knows that he’s known for it, too. That’s why a woman named Melissa Violette had the brilliant idea of fans bringing white hankies with them to the Hamilton concert on Tuesday August 16. The idea is to create a sea of white for Gord to show him some love from Hamilton.
This came to us from Kelly Pascon who saw Melissa Violette’s comment on a post about the Hamilton Tragically Hip concert on the Core Entertainment Facebook page. Like Kelly, I think this is a great idea. If you’re attending the Hip concert on Tuesday, why not bring a white hanky to show Gord and the boys some love?
UPDATE: If you don’t have a white piece of cloth, there are people working hard to make up the deficit.
Love this! I will be bringing one! tomorrow night for sure!
Hope some of you will be available to make it into town early enough to show off your hankies at the fan fundraiser pre-party! All details are here: http://bit.ly/CourageForGordHamilton
And, just wanted to take this opportunity to offer a public thank you to Alan Cross for the much appreciated light you’ve been shining on this tour and our favourite band all summer long!

The Brain Tumour Foundation is asking people to wear grey. I’d rather raise awareness for them, I’m sure I’ll need a hanky for crying though, it’s going to be an emotional concert I’m sure. http://www.braintumour.ca/5793/a-message-of-courage
Any organizations locally that can donate 10,000 or so into the hands of the fans ?
That’s amazing will be bringing one and sharing this!! It’s going to an amazing night!
I’ll be waving a white hanky alright — of surrender! Hard core fan shut out for tickets despite qualifying for 3 insider presages. So sorry to miss the tour boys thanks to selfish promoters.
Presales not presages!
