Based on what kind of new music Canadians are searching for through Google Play Music, the boffins who collect such data have determined these are ten emerging artists worth watching in 2017.

  • James Barker Band is a Canadian country singer who had a hit with “Lawn Chair Crazy” last year.
  • Allan Rayman is an indie rocker from Wyoming who now lives in Toronto
  • Grace VanderWaal? She’s just 12. Simon Cowell thinks she’s “the next Taylor Swift.”
  • We know Bishop Briggs already, but we need a full album from her.
  • Khalid has something of a hit with a song called “Coaster.”
  • Rag’n’Bone Man is an hotly-tipped former bass and drum guy from England.
