Got a smart speaker yet? Everyone seems to be buying one.

Talking to Alexa yet? Always calling out “OK Google?” You’re not alone.

According to Strategy Analytics, global sales of smart speakers grew by a whopping 70% in 2019. They believe that about 147 million units are in operation with 55.7 million of them being sold in the final quarter of the year. The market share of brands break down like this:

  1. Amazon, 26.2% (down from 33.7% a year earlier)
  2. Google, 20.3% (down from 25.9% from 2018)
  3. Baidu (up 171% over 2018)
  4. Alibaba (up 94%)
  5. Xiaomi (up 167%)
  6. Apple, 4.7% market share (6.9 million sold in 2019)
