Great Story: Amanda Palmer Vs. The Daily Mail

Having followed Amanda Palmer’s career for many years now, I know one thing: don’t piss this woman off. Here’s a prime example of how she outfoxed old media with new.

It all began with a wardrobe malfunction at Glastonbury were a boob popped out of her bra during her performance.  The Daily Mail chose to make a big deal out of this.  Here’s the picture they published under the headline “Making a boob of herself!”

That’s all they chose to discuss. Nothing about her performance, her music, the crowd or anything else. They just reported on the wayward breast.

This annoyed Amanda greatly so she decided to exact some revenge.  In song.

When she performed at the Roundhouse this past Friday night, she performed an open letter she wrote to the Daily Mail, asking everyone in the audience to video it and spread it online.  And that’s exacly what happened.

The Guardian has a transcript of everything here.
