Green Day’s Dookie is getting a massive 30th anniversary re-release

[A heads-up from Elisa F.G. – AC]

Green Day is about to release a massive Dookie, one that’s been brewing for over three decades so if you’re a proud supporter of “The Idiot Nation” this matters and to everybody else who’s had the first three bars of When I Come Around stuck in their head for twenty-ish years, this may finally slaughter that earworm. (Doubt it though.)

A 30th anniversary Dookie deluxe edition boxset will be available as of September 29th 2023 and the band’s serving it up any which way you like – be it a limited edition digital, 6-LP vinyl or a 4-CD box set, either way it’s going to be one for the display shelves, especially if you have a dog. Why? So happy you asked! The vinyl boxset comes with Dookie bags for real-life dookies…of the faecal kind. How cute!?

Packed to the brim with much more than poop bags, comes three decades worth of released and unreleased demos, outtakes, live shows including live in Barcelona (June 5 ’94) and Woodstock ’94. Raging, roaring, really pissed (more times than others) rock operatic, armed with a fist full of Grammy’s, or rocking their new faux fashion line of Nimrod tees with Trumps mugshot dead centre… however you like your Green Day, all that angsty juice is in the box. (Not the Nimrod tee though) But is the that angsty-juice box worth the squeeze? (or price tag?) Your call. Here’s what you’d be getting.

A Special Limited Edition 6-LP vinyl boxset will only be available at indie record stores and on the band’s website, cool thing about this version? All 6 records were pressed on a different shade of brown vinyl. The roll of Dookie poopie bags are in this version, a set of buttons, an air freshener, postcard, bumper sticker, kiss-cut large magnet sheet, paper airplane, a black and white “Coloring Page” cover litho insert and a poster of alternate cover art.

The six vinyl LPs boxset consists of LP 1 – Dookie, LP 2 – Dookie Demos, LP 3 – Dookie outtakes, LP 4 – Live at Woodstock ’94 and LP 5 and 6 are both Live in Barcelona, June 5 ’94.

The CD boxset houses 4 CDs, two stickers, the five-button set, an air freshener and soft vinyl magnet. Cool?

Either boxes gets you “a heartfelt personal intro penned  by Grammy Award-winning  producer Rob Cavallo and extensive liner notes from Grammy Award winner Bob Mehr.”

Sound good? Dookie’s 30th anniversary September 29th release pre orders are (available in all versions) here.
