When it comes to rock and alt-rock, not enough people realize that the people of Mexico love this music. I mean, really, really LOVE it. Just ask bands like The Pixies, U2, and The Dears.

This piece of news might come as a surprise. A New York indie band that first appeared more than 20 years ago just played a gig in front of 166,000 people in Mexico City. This was the biggest music event in the city so far this year and one of the biggest of all time. Yes, it was a free gig, but still…
