Guests Announced for 2014 Rock Hall of Fame Ceremonyt
This year’s induction ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is coming up next Thursday at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn with the telecast to follow on HBO on May 31. Here’s what to expect:
- Peter Gabriel: He’ll perform. Chris Martin of Coldplay will induct him.
- Hall and Oates: They’ll perform, too. They’ll be inducted by Questlove
- KISS: We’ll see which members will join Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons onstage. Tom Morello will induct them. (I wonder if they’ll try and sell something.)
- Nirvana: Michael Stipe will induct them. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic will be there, of course. Courtney Love told me that she fully intends to be onstage, too. She even showed me the dress she’s picked out.
- Linda Ronstadt: Big musical tribute. She’ll be inducted by Glen Frey of The Eagles.
- Cat Stevens: Yes, Yusuf Islam will be there. We don’t know who will induct him yet.
- The E Street Band: Springsteen will induct his own band. Then they’ll play.
- Other inductees include Brian Epstein (former Beatles manager) and Andrew Loog Oldham (former Stones manager)
(Thanks to Pamela Chellin for the info.)
Any word on the remaining members of Nirvana performing at all? I’m actually torn if I would even want to see them perform a Nirvana song with a different singer.
I think the best thing is to have Dave and Krist pay along live with a video of kurt and his vocals. remember right after Michael Jackson died Janet Jackson was supposed to do the duet Scream with her brother Michael. So since he had literally just passed away they played the Video of the song with Michael and Janet Jackson sang live and performed live with his likeness and voice and it was incredible. I think that would be the best thing to do, have Kurt’s Video and vocals and have Dave and Krist perform live with them. After paying the proper respect to Kurt have Courtney come up and sing with them. That is the only proper way to do it and it would make Kurt so happy to see them make up. I am sure Kurt will be smiling down on the event.
How about Shaun Morgan from Seether? He sounds identical.
