GWAR Tragedy: Guitarist Flattus Died of Heart Disease

GWAR fans are still mourning the death of Cory “Flattus Maximus” Smoot on the band’s tour bus back on November 3.  The North Dakota coroner has now issued a statement.

“We have finalized the autopsy report and death certificate. I have determined that Cory died from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease.”

If you’re a fan and you’d like to donate to the Smoot Family Foundation–Cory left behind a wife and an unborn child–go here.  There’s also a Flattus solo album coming in 2012.  All proceeds will go to his family.
