Had he lived, AC/DC’s Bon Scott would have been 80 this year. There are celebrations.

Bon Scott‘s life came to an end in East Dulwich, London, on February 19, 1980. He was on a night-out binger with his drug buddy, Alistair Kinnear. Stupefyingly drunk, he was left to sleep it off in Kinnear’s car. When he was found unconscious in the morning, he was rushed to the hospital but declared DOA. The verdict? Acute alcohol poisoning.

Had he lived, he would have turned 80 on July 9. To celebrate that, his estate has announced a new line of merch in conjunction with Neumann, the German audio company. This includes:

  • One ounce gold and silver bars that bear Scott’s name and likeness.
  • Limited edition shirts in the “Heritage” tartan produced by a kiltmaker in Scottland.
  • Football jerseys in the same tartan
  • A special YouTube channel.
  • A rock festival in Kirreimuir, Scotland, which is already sold out.
