Her Frequency is a study that looks at women’s value and importance when it comes to live music

There’s a new report that has information on women in music, specifically how important women are to the live music sector.

Almost 15,000 women from 12 countries were interviewed for the study, called Her Frequency. Here are a few highlights.

  • 64% of women worldwide are self-identified fans of live music.
  • 89% typically attend live music events.
  • Women spend a lot of swag.
    • 54% of women spend more than US$100 beyond the price of a ticket when they go to a gig.
    • 29% spend more than US$200
    • 11% spend beyond US$500.
  • 30% say they are the “initiators of attendance” to shows. In other words, they’re the ones that rope everyone together to go to a gig.
  • 83% if female fans play a key role in creating the group experience
