Here are some of the things you can buy at the Freddie Mercury auction

Mary Austin, Freddie Mercury‘s longtime companion, inherited most everything of his when he died in 1991. Now, after more than 30 years, she’s decided to set these possessions free (and make a ton of money in the process) via an auction conducted by Sotheby’s.

Freddie’s stuff–1,500 items–will be exhibited in New York, LA, and Hong Kong before everything returns to London for the big sale in the fall. To give you an idea of how popular this stuff is going to be, a pair of Freddie’s “shortest, tightest” leather pants just sold for£18,000.

Wanna go shopping? Here is some of what’s for sale.

  • Handwritten lyrics including a working version of “We Are the Champions”
  • Stage costumes
  • A vintage Bakelite rotary desk phone.
  • A moustache brush. Of course. (It’s from Tiffany’s and made of silver.)
  • Plus:

A silk waistcoat featuring images of his beloved cats, Delilah, Goliath, Oscar, Lily, Romeo and Miko

His Queen crown.

A Tissot painting
