Here are the key dates for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize

The debates among the 200+ jurors have already begun and there’s already a long list of albums that have been suggested for this year’s Polaris Music Prize. While all that’s going on, we have the key dates for this year’s award.

Long List announcement (40 semi-finalists): June 13

Short List announcement (10 finalists): July 13

Grand Gala: September 19–and it’ll take place at Massey Hall! I quote from the press release:

The iconic venue will be transformed by “Waveform,” its themed look for the Polaris 2023 season. Designed by Montreal-based artist, Aude Guivarc’h, various iterations of the Waveform will be unveiled throughout Polaris season and will be integrated in the stage design and environment at the Polaris Gala. Directed by Daniel Tal, Polaris has launched the official event season kick-off video (linked) where you can see Guivarc’h’s landscapes come to life for the first time.
