Here’s a theory why Taylor Swift chose this week to play six shows in Toronto

The Taylor Swift Apocalypse is almost here with thousands and thousands of Swifties descending on the city for six shows at the Rogers Centre. I will be avoiding going downtown until the circus leaves next week.

Up until I received this email from Alex, I didn’t really question why Tay-Tay picked this week to play Toronto. But now, it all makes sense. I quote Alex:

“Taylor Swift plays the first of her Toronto shows this week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). She’ll then have four days off before the second half of her run the following week. Out of curiosity, I decided to check and see where Travis Kelce would be playing this weekend.

“The Chiefs are at Buffalo on Sunday afternoon. There are 32 teams in the NFL, and THAT is where they happen to be playing the weekend Klece’s girlfriend is performing just a short drive (or helicopter ride?) away.

“And here’s the kicker (pun fully intended): these Taylor Swift shows were announced over a year ago, probably well before the NFL’s 2024 schedule came out.

“This may be just a coincidence. After all, KC was due to play Buffalo this year under the NFL’s scheduling formula (they each won their respective divisions last year). But out of 17 regular season games, 9 at home and 8 on the road, the Chiefs just happen to be in Buffalo this particular weekend. While Taylor has a short break in her schedule. Two hours away.

“The world’s a funny ol’ place, ain’t it? 🙂”
