Here’s a version of Van Halen’s “Runnin’ with the Devil” that you’ve probably never heard before

I post this because (a) I’d never heard this 1977 outtake from the debut Van Halen album and (b) I’m hoping to catch David Lee Roth tonight here in Las Vegas when I take a break from wandering around CES.

This features a different DLR vocal, an extended guitar solo, and a slightly different mix.

Very few VH outtakes have appeared over the years. The only other one I’m aware of was a release of “Dance the Night Away” a couple of years back.
