Here’s a Great “Where Are They Now” Story for Retro 80s Fans

If you were into the alternative scene of the 1980s, there was no way you could have missed Howard Jones. This was a huge hit single from a 1984 multi-platinum album.

One of the cool things about Howard was how deep he was into the cutting-edge technology of the day. Back when MIDI gear, sequencers and samplers were very temperamental, he boldly went where few musician dared tread. I remember seeing him up close at the old Kingswood Music Theatre sometime in the late 80s and marveling at how he conducted his one man uber-electronic orchestra.

‘Course, what he required a mountain of gear to accomplish back then can be handled by a simple smart phone app. Which brings me to this.

Jones has a new free smart phone app that will go along with his new multi-media project he calls ENGAGE. The London premiere happens February 20. So what’s the deal? Watch.

If you’re interested in the app, get the iOS version here and the Android version here. Learn more at Howard’s website.
