Here’s how the fan voting is going for this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The fan voting component when it comes to who gets into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is rather silly. You can vote once a day, every day. And once all the fan votes are in, they collectively count for ONE (1) vote against the other thousand or so votes from the members of the Rock Hall Committee. This does, however, give us an idea of how the Committee and rock fans match up–or don’t.

Here’s where things stand as of this morning (February 21) with 705,447 votes cast so far.

  1. Phish (114,095)
  2. Billy Idol (66,597)
  3. Soundgarden (64,313)
  4. Cyndi Lauper (57,014)
  5. Bad Company (54,908)
  6. Joe Cocker (53,365)
  7. Chubby Checker (48,704)
  8. Black Crowes (44,339)
  9. Mariah Carey (43,224)
  10. Outkast (38,949)
  11. Joy Division + New Order (35,856)
  12. Oasis (35,735)
  13. The White Stripes (34,821)
  14. Mana (13,527)
