Here’s our weekly Canadian CD and vinyl sales report along with a look at Canadian streaming numbers (04 Dec 2025)

There are some BIG increases in the weekly Canadian CD and vinyl sales report, thanks to Black Friday, specifically the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day. Let’s have a look.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 45,062 (Up 100.8% from last week. Nope. Not a typo.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 66,200 (Up 96.0% from a week ago.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,443,963 (Down 3.2% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,611,495 (Up 19.9% from a year ago).

  Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,968,322,396 (Up 0.9% from a week ago)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 135,506,098,293 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)

    I guess that Xmas sales are pushing sales up. Good to see that physical media is still being purchased
