Here’s pictorial evidence that the Smashing Pumpkins reunion is on

Well, three-quarters on, anyway.

This photo shoot featuring Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin is pretty good evidence that the 75% of the Smashing Pumpkins plan do to something in 2018, most likely an album (produced, apparently, by Rick Rubin) followed by an arena tour later in the year.

Wait. Who’s the fourth dude in the picture?

That’s Jeff Shroeder, a guy who has put in time touring as a guitarist with this pre-reunion Pumpkins. I subscribe to the theory that since neither D’Arcy Wretzky nor apparently Melissa Aur Der Maur are interested in/were asked the reunion that Jeff will make the transition to bass.

That’s fine, but am I the only one who feels that if this next album project is, as rumoured, to be in the vein of Gish and Siamese Dream, that it should have a woman on bass? That just sorta seems…you know, proper.

Here is the photo from the shoot that leaked online. Good on Alternative Nation for the info. (Via CoS)
