Here’s the First Installment of David Bowie’s Instagram Series

Yesterday (February 25) saw the release of the first episode of an Instagram series commissioned by David Bowie before his death. He gave a group of filmmakers unrestricted access to the music and images from the Blackstar album and didn’t impose any limits or preconditions.

The result is UNBOUND: A ★ InstaMiniSeries, consisting of 16 episodes, all of which will be released over the next month. (Read up on the project here.)

This is episode one, which runs all of 15 seconds, the maximum length of an Instagram video. That means when pieced together, the entire movie will run about four minutes.

Pay attention to the figure in the corner with his back to the camera and the book on the table bearing a large black star. You will be confounded–just as Bowie would have wanted. Follow now so you don’t miss the next episode when it arrives Monday.
