Here’s the playlist King Charles will use for his coronation–and there’s one Canadian selection

“King Charles.” I’m still not used to that. But time marches on and he’ll be coronated in May along with Camilla, the Queen Consort.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport–yes, this was a government effort–has picked 27 songs for a suggested street party soundtrack when we officially have King Charles III. According to a spokesman, the playlist was put together to “celebrate British and Commonwealth artists ahead of the upcoming Coronation.”

UK artists dominate, obviously. Canada’s Commonwealth status is recognized by the inclusion of Michael Buble’s “It’s a Beautiful Day.”

  • I can think of better Canadian music than Buble that would fit the celebration, but at least we have someone represented!
