Here’s the trailer for the documentary on Sarah McLachlan and Lilith Fair

The 1990s were the gold age of high-end touring music festivals: Lollapalooza, Another Roadside Attraction, Edgefest, Summersault, and Ozzfest. Most were heavy-duty dude-centric events–except one: Lilith Fair.

Sarah MacLachlan’s female-friendly festival managed to squeeze in two summers for the old music industry went to hell in a handcart thanks to the internet. (There was a third event in 2000s, but we’ll leave that aside for the moment.)

There’s now a documentary entitled Building a Myster, which premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival) that is now headed for wide distribution. Director Ally Pankiw, Sarah McLachlan, Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Paula Cole, Joan Osborne, and Diane Sawyer were all on hand.
