Here’s the weekly Canadian CD and vinyl sales report (07 May 2026)

The second third of 2026 has begun. Let’s see where Luminate says we are in terms of cd and vinyl sales as well as streaming.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 29.041 (Up 3.9 from last week.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 36,313 (Down 27.3% from last week, but that included some Record Store Day sales.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 509,164 (Up 1.3% from a year ago. Sales have been trending up for a bit.)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 618,322 (Up 5.5% from this time last year.)

  Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 3,034,140,495 (Down 0.9% from a week ago. This is the third week in a row where streams exceeded three billion.)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 49,860,608,010 (Up 3.5% from last year.)
