There’s no way CDs are going to catch up to vinyl when it comes to the number of units sold in Canada in 2025. The question is: By how much? Here are the latest figures courtesy Luminate.

CDs sold in Canada last week: 31,607 (a nice bum of 27.2% from last week)
Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 38,400 (up 22.8% from a week ago)
CDs sold in Canada this year: 501,282 (down 6.2% from this same week last year)
Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 572,229 (up 15.2% from this point in 2024)

Streaming numbers:

Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,882,056,275 (up 1.8% from a week earlier)
Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 45,860,534,716 (up 5.6% from this time last year)
