Here’s your weekly Canadian music sales report. How did CDs and vinyl do this week?

There’s no way CDs are going to catch up to vinyl when it comes to the number of units sold in Canada in 2025. The question is: By how much? Here are the latest figures courtesy Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 31,607 (a nice bum of 27.2% from last week)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 38,400 (up 22.8% from a week ago)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 501,282 (down 6.2% from this same week last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 572,229 (up 15.2% from this point in 2024)

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,882,056,275 (up 1.8% from a week earlier)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 45,860,534,716 (up 5.6% from this time last year)
