Hey, Trent Reznor: What Do All These Instructions and Stickers Mean? Are You Trying to Tell Us Something?

Nine Inch Nails fans are now receiving the physical packages for the Add Violence EP. What do all these instructions mean? Recall that when the EP was released, an image of the back cover was released with the message “REMEMBER WHEN RECORDS HAD BACK COVERS? NO? MAYBE THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT.”

Maybe it is. One thing that’s not shown here (for obvious reasons) is a unit number and a serial number that could be codes that might need to be put into…something. A login for a website? This has people scouring last December’s Not the Actual Events for more clues. Those searches have led to similar numbers. I have a feeling that once the third EP in this triptych is released later this year, everything will come together.

Yes, Very Year Zero–and for good reason. Buried in the text is this credit: “World integration and execution – 42 Entertainment.” This is the same company that executed all the ARG stuff for that album.
