Hosts of a science podcast aren’t happy with Spotify’s new content warnings

On Sunday, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek pledged to fight misinformation with the platform’s selection of podcasts by posting advisory warnings on certain content. This, he hopes, will make his Joe Rogan headache go away. And there’s a lot that needs to be corrected.

This, however, isn’t sitting well with some people, including the hosts of a podcast called Science Vs, a show that seeks to correct those spewing misinformation and disinformation, including but not limited to COVID, 5G, sharks, fasting, and more. Here’s their open letter on Twitter.

This fallout will continue a lot longer than most people realize. This isn’t a problem that will just go away.
