House Attached to the Doors’ Jim Morrison On the Market

There have been a lot of rock’n’roll real estate listings lately.  Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris put his country pile on the market and Arcade Fire is looking to unload their Montreal church.

Now a modest home in Pensacola, Florida, is up for auction.  It’s a nice Victorian style place at 107 Gregory Street adjacent to the neighbourhood funeral home.  The current owners are Bruce Morrison III (Jim’s second cousin) and his wife, Rella.

Back in the 40s when he was in Naval flight school, Rear Admiral George Stephen Morrison (Jim’s dad) and his wife Clara, lived in a basement apartment in the house.  Doors lore says that it was in that apartment that Jim was conceived in 1943.

The auction for the home closed at 3pm Sunday.
