How about a tour through a massive Toronto vinyl pressing plant? Let’s go!

Back in May, I was invited to tour Microforum, a record pressing facility in Toronto. It’s located in a weirdly zoned place on a street that alternates between detached houses, businesses, warehouses, and factories.

The Microforum facility is a two-storey building that is almost devoted entirely to fulfilling the public’s voracious appetite for vinyl.

I (and my videographer/editor E.FG) got an escorted visit that began with the room that cuts the master pressing discs from digital files to the places that piece together the packaging (including for box sets) to a massive area with multiple (Six? Eight? More?) vinyl pressing machines. The place is massive.
