How big is “Seven Nation Army?” This is what happened on the streets of Tehran.

Few rock songs from the last 25 years have become as globally ubiquitous as The White Stripes‘ “Seven Nation Army.” Even in censorship-crazy Iran with its morality police roaming the country, the song is big enough to attract a crowd to a street performance.

Note the exuberance of both the performers and the crowd. And how many women are wearing the mandatory hijab? This has become a symbol of defiance since the death of Mahsa Amini, a woman who was taken into custody for not wearing her hijab in public. The result was mass protests.

Yes, Jack White noticed. He shared it on his social media channels, too. Could this become a flashpoint for social revolution in Iran? Hey, never underestimate the power of music.
