How Dancing Inmates Inspired a New Web Series

Remember this?  It’s been viewed 50 million times.

I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise that someone would take this and turn it into something more.  A new series called Prison Dancer is now in production in Toronto.  The twelve episode series is described as a mash-up of Broadway musicals and, er, the dancing inmages of Cebu.

Could this be the new Glee?  It sure as hell ain’t gonna be the new Oz.

    how do you know it won't be the new oz?
    this webseries has everything…dance numbers, death, stripper poles, guns, cage fighting, zombies, star crossed lovers and lots and lots of music!

    Black masculinity and machismo inside a prison or otherwise cannot be compared to Filipino masculinity and machismo. Apples and oranges. You should expand your horizons about what your image of "tough" is.
