How did this young Chinese mobile phone company create an EV when Apple couldn’t? Let’s examine this.

Chances are you don’t know much about Xiaomi (pronounced “Show Me”), a mobile phone company based in China. Born in 2011, the company became one of the world’s biggest phone makers in just a few years. Last year–yes, 2024–it launched its own EV that seems to outperform similar vehicles like Tesla and Porsche. Other manufacturers like Ford and Rivian, are watching closely.
