One of the things Jay Z’s Tidal promises subscribers is access to exclusive material. Saturday night, the service’s first exclusive, a song called “Die With You” from Beyonce, appeared. This is the kind of thing that’s supposed to convince people to subscribe to Tidal for $9,99 a month for regular audio and $19.99 for high-def audio.
So how long did it take for someone to rip the song and put it on YouTube? Mere minutes. And although Sony has been doing its best with copyright infringement claims, it’s turned into a game of Whack-A-Mole with the clip popping up over and over again.
