How many Spotify playlists are there? You won’t believe it.

One of the interesting things about Spotify is that they’re usually pretty lose about statistics and user engagement. Here are a couple of recent numbers that blew my mind.

If you’re a user, there’s a 99.999% chances you’ve created a playlist or two. You’re not alone. In fact, there seems to be an infinite number of playlists available. Close.

According to CEO Daniel Ek, there are EIGHT BILLION user-generated playlists on the platform. That’s one for each human being on Earth.

And they just keep coming. About 872 million playlists were created so far in 2024 alone.

The country with the most playlists per capita? South Korea, whose citizens create 50% more than any other people.
