How Much Would It Cost to Have the Rolling Stones Play a Private Show for You?
A lot, obviously. But the rich are not like you and I.
Ralph Whitworth used to be the chairman of HP, so he’s rich. After the Rolling Stones played Petco Park in San Diego, their gear was humped to the Belly Up Tavern where the band played another show, this time for around 400 of Ralph’s closest friends.
It was supposed to be a secret gig, but who’s not going to talk about the Stones playing a local bar. By afternoon there were dozens of people lined up on the sidewalk with absolutely no hope in hell of getting in.
How much did something like this cost? Around $2 million, apparently. And the Stones aren’t the only act willing to play private shows for big dollars.
