How this for a rumour? A new Oasis album WITHOUT Liam

I know, I know. Every single Oasis reunion rumour since 2009 has been for naught. But now we have something from Noel.

According to Gallagher the Elder, he’s recording a new Oasis album that will feature re-recordings of 14 tracks that did not make it onto any previous Oasis record. I quote from Noel via The Sun:

“I’ve listed the proper songs and there were 14. They just fell by the wayside of various projects from down the years. I’m going to record them. Some are quite old school. I was looking at the track listing and thinking, ‘Actually, f-ing hell, no I’d approach that song differently.’ It’s been very interesting.”

Okay, so these are Noel’s songs written during the time Oasis was together. What’s not clear is who else will be on the record. Is it an Oasis record if it’s just Noel? There’s no indication that Liam will be taking part. What about Bonehead? Gem? Andy Bell? Paul McGuigan? And who will play drums?

Liam has been telling anyone who will listen that “2021 is Oasis’ year,” which can only be interpreted as a plea for a reunion. We’ll see, I guess.
