How’s This for University Credit: A Course in Metal Lyrics

If you’ve ever been associated with a university education, you’ll know that any given school will offer some strange courses, especially in the arts faculties.  But “strange” doesn’t necessisarily mean “stupid.”

I, for one, highly endorse the new course in heavy metal lyrics being offered by Professor Martin Jacobsen at West Texas A&M University.  It’s officially listed as “Introduction to Literature: Heavy Metal as a Literary Genre.”

Check out this interview with the good professor on why he’s teaching the course and what kind of students he faces each day.
