I Like This: Hugh Oliver

Hugh is an odd duck.  He’s a poet, novelist and sculptor.  He was a musican at one point, too, writing songs with producer Glyn Johns and having his material recorded by Decca and EMI back in the 60s.

Glyn became a big-time producer, working wtih everyone from the Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Elton John and The Who.  Hugh retired from music and moved to Canada where he took a job at the University of Toronto.

Now, at the age of 83, some 50 years after he stopped recording songs, Hugh has un-retired from music and has recorded a new album entitled …And All That Crap.  With songs like this, I find the project fascinating.  And it’s CanCon, too.
