When Joy Division committed “Love Will Tear Us Apart” to tape, singer Ian Curtis played this Vox Phantom VI Special Guitar manufactured in 1967 or 1968, purchased for him by manager Rob Gretton for £120.

This is the video that was shot in late April 1980, just weeks before Ian died.

That guitar is going up for auction on October 13 through Bonhams. Estimated price? Anywhere from £60,000 – 80,000.
