As someone who plays drums, meter is everything.  No one likes a drummer that speeds up and slows down.  That’s why I practiced with a metronome and encouraged all of my students to do the same thing.

But we drummers tend to get loud which drowns out the sound of old-school mechanical metronomes. Click tracks through headphones are much better.  And this is probably the easier way to get yourself a click track.
