If you’re into guitars, you have to see this documentary on guitar pedals

Every electric guitar player I know is infatuated with their effects pedals. And why not? Guitar pedals devices can turn the clean sound of an axe into something powerful, dangerous, and otherworldly. Pedals (and the people who use them) are the topic of this two-hour-and-twenty-minute(!!!) doc called The Pedal Movie.

The film features pedal kings like Billy Corgan, J Mascis, Kevin Shield of My Bloody Valentine, Graham Coxon from Blur, and many other aficionados, including the self-proclaimed pedal nerds who made them. Take a look and then check out these highlights.

  • Aw! I didn’t notice Oliver Ackermann in the trailer, but he’s top-billed on IMDB. Glad he’s featured in this. Bought one of his awesome Death by Audio pedals (Fuzz War) at the last A Place to Bury Strangers shows here.
