I’m loving the MAGA meltdown over Taylor Swift. Here’s a summary heads exploding.

I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift’s music, but I’m absolutely loving how Donald Trump and MAGA acolytes are losing their freakin’ minds over her popularity and potential political influence. The conspiracies–all related to her boyfriend Kelce Travis of the Super Bowl-bound Kansas City Chiefs–are so far into the realm of the weird it’s impossible to keep a straight face.

The reason for all this is simply Tay-Tay is the most popular and influential entertainer in the world right now. In the past, she’s shown signs of leaning left politicly, including 2020 endorsement of Joe Biden. If she encourages her fans to register to vote, they respond by the thousands. And it’s very reasonable to assume that the majority of these fans will vote Democrat, especially if Taylor drops another endorsement for Joe.

There’s another reason, too. Right-wing media need something to distract the fact that their guy, Donald Trump, is a convicted sexual assaulter who is facing more than 91 indictments across the country.

The Republicans, on the other hand, have Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

Failed Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said: “I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month. And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall. Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months.”

Benny Jonnson, another right-winger with a big social media following said this: “Taylor Swift is an op. It’s all fake. You’re being played.”

Loony Laura Loomer chimed in: “The Democrats’ Taylor Swift election interference psyop is happening in the open. It’s not a coincidence that current and former Biden admin officials are propping up Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. They are going to use Taylor Swift as the poster child for their pro-abortion GOTV Campaign.”

Then we have this from Mike Crispi, another MAGA mouthpiece: “The NFL is totally RIGGED for the Kansas City Chiefs, Taylor Swift, Mr. Pfizer [Travis Kelce because he’s been vocal about being vaccinated], all to spread DEMOCRAT PROPAGANDA. Calling it now: KC wins, goes to Super Bowl, Swift comes out at the halftime show and ‘endorses’ Joe Biden with Kelce at midfield. It’s all been an op since day one.”

How about this headline in Rolling Stone? Trump Allies Pledge ‘Holy War’ Against Taylor Swift. Trump is privately complaining that he’s more popular than Swift and isn’t getting any credit for that. He’s still pissed that she was named Time’s Person of the Year for 2023 and not him.

Newsmax host Greg Kelly has lost his mind, too. Idolotry? Jeezus, what do you call the cult of Trump and all is Christo-nationalists?

Like I said, I’m loving this. At the same time, though, this shows how the most powerful country in the world is also home to some of the dumbest. And watch out if Tay-Tay drops a Biden endorsement.
