Why All the Indie Labels Are Mad at YouTube

You may have heard that indie labels across the planet are steamed at YouTube because the company has unilaterally set forth some terms regarding what they will pay for streaming music videos.  Billboard summarizes the five things the indies hate about the deal.

1.  YouTube is offering lower rates.

2.  Something called the “negative most-favoured-nation” clause.

3.  Uncommitted payments.

4.  No minimum payments like the majors get.

5.  Is a premium YouTube music streaming service really a good idea?
