Is Kid Rock a suitable choice for Turning Point USA’s alternate Super Bowl halftime show? (SPOILER: No. Here’s why.)

Charlie Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA (now run by his widow, EriKKKa), is outraged that Bad Bunny was picked for the Super Bowl halftime show. Somehow, a Spanish-speaking global Latino superstar from Puerto Rico is “Unamerican.” They’re counter-programming everything with their All-American Halftime Show featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

It will be broadcast on YouTube and on a bunch of right-wing cable channels, along with Sinclair Broadcasting (another Trump-friendly bunch) on their digital stations Charge! and National News Desk. Yeah, good luck.

Meanwhile, it’s been pointed out that Kid Rock isn’t exactly family-friendly, pious, or particularly admirable. Case in point: A song he wrote for a 2001 Bill Murray/Chris Rock animated buddy cop movie called Osmosis Jones. It was a dud.

There’s a scene featuring Kid Rock (“Kidney Rock” in the film) and his rapper, Joe C, featuring some exotic dancers. Here are some of the lyrics:

Kid Rock: “Young ladies, young ladies / I like ’em underage, see / Some say that’s statutory.” Joe C: “But I say it’s mandatory.”

Um, that’s statutory rape, right?

Very Christian, huh, TPUSA
