Is Radiohead about to mount a comeback? [UPDATE: Yes.]
Radiohead hasn’t released a studio album since the spring of 2016. They haven’t toured since 2018. But is the inactivity about to come to an end? Maybe.
The first clue dropped back in March when the band registered a new company called RHEUK25 LLP. All five members are listed as officers. People who watch such things got excited because the band formed similar companies before A Moon Shaped Pool (Dawn Chorus LLP) and Kid A Mnesia reissue in 2021 (Spin with a Grin). All these entities allow the band to work independently away from the traditional record label system.
Then another clue: Two Radioihead tickets to the “concert of your choice” were offered for auction as part of an LA wildfire benefit. That’s when we heard whispers that the group was going hit Europe in the fall.
Clue number three: The band made something of a deal about the 30th anniversary of the release of The Bends on Instagram. That got fans excited.
And now, this. Flyers have started to appear randomly in London and Copenhagen, promoting shows scheduled for November and December. No venues are mentioned, but the London shows are listed for November 21, 22, 24, and 25. Copenhagen’s dates are December 1, 2, 4, and 5. I’ve also heard that flyers have been seen in Bologna, Italy.
It’s real folks!
