Is Simon Cowell Prepping a Cooking Show?

Somewhere around the middle of last year, the trope “food is the new rock” began to spread. At first, I dismissed this as hyperbole.  But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this was true. Just Google “food is the new rock” and you’ll get 508,000,000 hits.

Simon Cowell, a shark always looking for the next business opportunity, knows that it’s time to bail out of The X Factor.  His new idea?  X Factor for food.

From Contact Music:

Simon Cowell is launching a cooking show in America.

The music mogul is in preliminary talks with US network Fox – which airs the US edition of his show ‘The X Factor’ – to broadcast an American version of his upcoming culinary reality competition ‘Food, Glorious, Food!’, which aims to find the best home cooked meal with the winning dish being sold in a top supermarket.

Makes perfect sense to me.
