Is your password “Blink-182?” Change it. NOW.

The National Cyber Security Centre in the UK has released a list of some of the most-hacked passwords on the planet. Scrolling through their “global password risk list” (download it here), we learn that the chances of your accounts getting pwned are excellent if you use the following passwords:

  • blink182
  • 50cent
  • metallica
  • slipknot

Don’t use any of these common names

  • ashley
  • michael
  • charlie
  • jessica
  • daniel

Stay away from these fictional names:

  • pokemon
  • superman
  • batman
  • tigger

Then we have the golden oldies of easily-hacked passwords

  • 123456
  • 123456789
  • qwerty
  • 1111111
  • password
