It’s not new Rush or a Rush reissue. But Rush fans will want these records from Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee.

Back in January 1996, Alex Lifeson used the break in Rush’s activity to release a solo album entitled Victor, a record that never really troubled the charts or rock radio. Too bad because this gave Alex a chance to show what he could do on his own.

Then there was the time about 25 years ago when it looked like Rush might be done. Neil Peart was going through some awful personal issues after losing his daughter in a car accident in 1997 and his wife to cancer in 1998. That’s when Geddy Lee tried the solo thing, too, with an album entitled My Favourite Headache. Jeremy Taggart of Our Lady Peace was his drummer for that project.

Both those records are set to be reissued in deluxe forms on August 9 in various formats, including a bunch of different vinyl versions.

Let’s start with Alex:

  • Ruby Translucent 2LP (Rush Backstage Exclusive, limited to 1,000 units)
  • Blue Translucent 2LP (Exclusive to Canada, limited to 1,000 units)
  • Crystal Clear Translucent 2LP (Exclusive to U.S. & ROW)
  • Standard Black 2LP
  • CD
  • Standard and HD/HRA digital.

Geddy’s record will come in these forms:

  • Blue/Green
  • Galaxy 2LP (Exclusive to Canada/Anthem)
  • Green & Blue 2LP (Exclusive to U.S. & ROW/Rhino)
  • CD

  • Victor is still an excellent album.
