It’s not new Tool, but it is an animated short scored by guitarist Adam Jones

Before Tool took off, guitarist Adam Jones was a special visual effects expert who worked on Hollywood films, something that was put to good use in the band’s early videos. Now in concert with Gibson Guitars, he’s created and scored a new animated short film called The Witness.

Jones has also just signed a deal with Gibson which sees the company issue his first-ever signature guitar, one based on Adam’s favourite Les Paul, a 1979 Silverburst. If you’ve seen Tool live, you’ll have seen Adam play this guitar.

This is the first-ever artist collaboration at the brand new Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab in Nashville. Only 79 will be available, all of which have been signed and numbered by Adam. He also helped design the case in which the guitar ships.

How much? It ain’t cheap, but if you have US$5,999 that’s not doing anything right now, you can order yours here.
