Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro Creates Documentary on the Murder of His Mother

When Dave Navarro was 15, his mother, Constance, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Dave was there to see it all. The killer, John Riccardi, was on the lam for eight long years and was only captured after an American’s Most Wanted campaign. Meanwhile, Dave coped by getting into music–but then he also sunk into a funk of drugs, sex and alcohol.

Riccardi is now on death row in California. Dave is clean and sober but bears plenty of emotional scars. To help exorcise whatever demons remain, he’s made a documentary about the ordeal called Mourning Son which will debut on VOD November 1. Here’s a trailer.
